Maca- A Natural Adaptogen and Energy Booster

I can tell you from experience that maca is a superfood with super benefits. Whenever I have a fruit smoothie with maca, I have so much energy and mental clarity. It really brings up my energy level! I like to have a fruit smoothie with maca in it before a hard workout or run.

Maca is a root found in Peru and belongs to the radish family. Maca is a superfood because it has so many benefits and health functions. Maca is used to boost energy, increases stamina, enhances memory and metal ability, increases sexual activity and fertility in women and men, is good for the teeth and bones, regulates hormones, reduces anemia, increases blood flow, is an anti-carcinogen and antioxidant, helps builds muscle, and is non-addictive. There are still more health benefits and to see them click here.

One huge health benefit of maca is that it can regulate hormones and is an adaptogen. For those who do not know what an adaptogen is- it is a substance that works with the body to rebuild immune systems and re-nourish the body.

On top of all of these health benefits, maca is rich in minerals such as iron, calcium, magnesium, potassium, sulfur, and silica. It also has nearly 20 amino acids and seven essential amino acids. No wonder it’s a superfood!

Maca can be bought in powder, extract, or pill form. To buy maca click here.
